my review on mr brown's best seller
da vinci code - the book has eventually became a big time best seller. so what's up with that? majority of the people who have indulged in this novel did gave it some positive feedbacks. to be more precise, exaggerated feedbacks i shall say. alright, i admit it's quite a brainy thriller... gripping enough to make you enjoy it's page-turning suspense till it's climax ending. i've read the book and what i really could honestly conclude is... it is just plain crappy. maybe coz ive read too many smart thrillers before this ( hint: sheldon's novels can make me glued to the pages the whole day, oh not to forget r l stine made me skip my revision hours during my highschool time) or maybe mr brown is just trying too hard to impress.fact is the essence of what he has written ...is a cunning masterpiece in disguise on a very amateurish attempt to brainwash the mind of his readers (especially to those outside his circle of faith) by merely mentioning 'this is just a fiction' on it's early pages when in truth mr brown wishes everybody to swallow the myths surrounding this story...mary magdalene.. holy grail...bla bla bla...and a few minor points carefully arranged making this novel be to be the best gift idea for last year's xmas celebration too. i see this story to be biased, well i need not mention why, it's so obvious. i can see mr brown doing his missionary fervor through his own ways.... no i ain't getting fooled, i wont get carried away and be intoxicated of this lame attempt. this novel would have been one of my fav if he hadn't written this propaganda into it. this book downright lacks realism.
the only good side of this novel is, how he potrayed the trust and love of a grandfather to his granddaughter that was just simply touching...it's worth it to read just this segment of the story... just absolutely beautiful.
well just coz everybody's loving it, i am not...and this is my reason.
p/s - i carefully pick my choices of words since i wish not to stir sensitive issues, but hey it's my liberty of thought and speech that matters.
